These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between the parent or legal guardian ("You", "Your", or "Parent") registering on behalf of a student ("Student" or "Child"), and Ghibran Vaibodha, Proprietor of GuruMode, having business address at 9/11 Duraisamy Street, Natesan Nagar, 2nd Main Road, Virugambakkam, Chennai - 600092, Tamil Nadu, India, operating under the brand name "GuruMode" (hereinafter referred to as "GuruMode", "We", "Us", or "Our").
By downloading, accessing, registering on, or using the GuruMode mobile application, website (gurumode.world), or any related service (collectively, the "Platform"), You agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any other policies incorporated herein by reference. If You do not agree to these Terms, You must not access or use the Platform.
GuruMode is a digital learning platform designed for CBSE Grade 5 to Grade 7 students to learn Mathematics through adaptive, mission-based interactive experiences. Unlike a marketplace or intermediary, GuruMode is the direct provider of the learning product, content, and technology infrastructure.
The Platform is currently available for use on Android devices. Availability on additional platforms or operating systems, if any, shall be announced separately by GuruMode.
2.1 The Platform is designed for CBSE Grade 5 to Grade 7 students. The Student uses the Platform on the Parent's or guardian's registered device.
2.2 Registration must be completed by a parent or legal guardian using a valid Indian mobile number and OTP verification. By registering, the parent or guardian represents that they are at least 18 years of age and accepts full legal responsibility for all activities conducted under the account, including those of the minor Student.
2.3 You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your OTP and account credentials. Any unauthorised access must be immediately reported to support.gurumode@gmail.com. GuruMode shall not be liable for losses arising from failure to secure account credentials.
2.4 GuruMode reserves the right to verify your identity and to suspend or terminate access if false, inaccurate, or misleading information is found to have been provided during or after registration.
3.1 GuruMode is currently available as a free MVP for CBSE Grades 5, 6 and 7 Maths, subject to these Terms and any reasonable usage, safety, or technical limits that GuruMode may apply to operate the Platform reliably.
3.2 The current submitted build does not include payments, in-app purchases, checkout flows, or student-facing account/payment controls.
3.3 GuruMode may modify, improve, suspend, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary for product quality, safety, compliance, or operational reasons. Where material changes are made, GuruMode will update the Platform or the applicable public policies as required.
4.1 GuruMode is currently available as a free MVP for CBSE Grades 5, 6 and 7 Maths. GuruMode does not collect payment information, does not process purchases, and does not offer paid access in the current submitted build.
4.2 Because the current submitted build does not include payments, refunds are not applicable. If GuruMode introduces parent-facing paid features in a future release, the applicable terms and privacy disclosures will be updated before those features are used.
5.1 GuruMode is designed with child safety as a foundational design principle. The following protections are built into the Platform architecture:
5.2 Parents are responsible for supervising their child's use of the Platform and for ensuring that the Student uses only the parent's registered device for Platform access.
5.3 By registering, the parent expressly consents to the collection and processing of the Student's learning interaction data (including mission performance, hint usage, and adaptive signals) for the purposes of personalised learning delivery and platform improvement, as further described in the Privacy Policy.
6.1 You agree to use the Platform solely for lawful, personal, and educational purposes.

6.3 Any breach of the above obligations may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of the account, at GuruMode's sole discretion.
7.1 All intellectual property rights in the Platform - including its design, layout, source code, branding, adaptive learning architecture, and content - are owned exclusively by GuruMode or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms shall be construed as a transfer of intellectual property rights to any user.
7.2 Users are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to access and use the Platform and its content for private, non-commercial educational purposes only, for the duration of their active account.
7.3 Reproduction, redistribution, modification, or commercial exploitation of any Platform content, in whole or in part, without the prior written authorisation of GuruMode is strictly prohibited and may attract legal action.
7.4 The Platform aligns its content with the CBSE/NCERT curriculum framework. GuruMode does not claim affiliation with, endorsement by, or approval from NCERT, CBSE, or any government body. NCERT textbooks and the NCERT curriculum are the intellectual property of the National Council of Educational Research and Training, a Government of India body.
8.1 The current submitted build does not send WhatsApp messages, promotional WhatsApp messages, WhatsApp learning updates, or WhatsApp alerts.
8.2 GuruMode does not use Gallabox or the WhatsApp Business API in the current MVP. If parent-facing messaging features are introduced in a future release, GuruMode will update the applicable policies and obtain any required parent/legal guardian consent or opt-in before use.

GuruMode makes no warranties or representations concerning specific learning outcomes, academic results, examination performance, or skill improvements. Student progress depends on consistent engagement, individual aptitude, effort, and other factors outside the control of GuruMode. The Platform is designed to support and facilitate learning; it does not guarantee results of any kind.
10.1 The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, GuruMode expressly disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
10.2 In particular, GuruMode does not warrant that:
10.3 Third-party services, including internet connectivity, Android device performance, app-store services, hosting providers, and backend infrastructure providers, are outside GuruMode's direct control. GuruMode is not responsible for disruptions, data loss, or failures caused by third-party providers except where required by applicable law.
To the maximum extent permitted under applicable Indian law, GuruMode, its directors, officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from or related to Your use of or inability to use the Platform, regardless of whether GuruMode has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
12.1 GuruMode collects, stores, and processes personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. The Privacy Policy forms an integral part of these Terms and should be read alongside them.
12.2 By registering and using the Platform, You consent to the collection and use of data as described in the Privacy Policy, including the processing of the Student's learning interaction data for adaptive learning purposes.
13.1 GuruMode reserves the right to suspend or terminate Your account with immediate effect and without prior notice if You: (a) breach any provision of these Terms; (b) engage in fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity on the Platform; or (c) misuse the Platform for commercial or institutional purposes without authorisation.
13.2 Upon termination, access to the Platform will cease immediately. Since the current submitted build is free and does not include payments or in-app purchases, no refund process applies to the current MVP.
13.3 You may request voluntary account deletion at any time by writing to support.gurumode@gmail.com or by visiting gurumode.world/delete-account. Account deletion requests will be processed subject to the settlement of any outstanding obligations and in accordance with the data retention provisions of the Privacy Policy.
GuruMode reserves the right to amend, modify, or replace these Terms from time to time, including in connection with legal, safety, product, or operational changes. Where material changes are made, GuruMode will update the Terms on the Platform or website and provide notice where required by applicable law. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of an amendment constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Users who do not agree to the revised Terms must discontinue use of the Platform.
15.1 These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
15.2 Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent civil courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

16.1 Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
16.2 Waiver: The failure of GuruMode to enforce any right or provision under these Terms on any occasion shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision on any future occasion.
16.3 Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any policies incorporated herein by reference, constitute the entire agreement between You and GuruMode with respect to the Platform and supersede all prior communications, proposals, representations, or agreements, whether oral or written.
16.4 Assignment: You may not assign or transfer any rights or obligations under these Terms without the prior written consent of GuruMode. GuruMode may assign or transfer its rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.
By registering on GuruMode, You acknowledge that You have read, understood, and unconditionally agreed to these Terms and Conditions in their entirety.
